📋 Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
  • Turn the ignition off.
  • Open the hood and locate the air filter box on the engine bay.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the air filter box

  • Find the black plastic airbox and release the retaining clips by hand.
  • If a clamp or screw is present, use the appropriate hand pressure or tool to loosen it.
  • Work gently so the clips do not break.

Step 2: Remove the old filter

  • Lift the old engine air filter straight out of the airbox.
  • Check for dirt, leaves, or debris in the housing.
  • Use a clean shop towel to wipe out the airbox if needed.

Step 3: Install the new filter

  • Place the new engine air filter into the housing in the same orientation as the old one.
  • Make sure the rubber seal sits flat all the way around.
  • Do not force it.

Step 4: Close and secure the airbox

  • Lower the airbox lid into place.
  • Reinstall or snap in all retaining clips by hand.
  • Make sure the housing is fully closed and seated evenly.

  • Start the engine and listen for any hissing or abnormal intake noise.
  • Check that the airbox is fully latched.
  • Make sure no tools or rags were left in the engine bay.
