Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the hood
- Pull the hood release inside the cabin, then lift the hood and secure it.

Step 2: Locate the air cleaner box
- Find the large black air box on the passenger side of the engine bay.
- This is the housing that contains the engine air filter.
Step 3: Release the air box cover
- Use a flathead screwdriver or trim clip tool to release the air box clips if needed.
- Lift the cover carefully and do not force it.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Lift the old air filter straight out of the housing by hand.
- Note the filter’s orientation before removal.
Step 5: Clean the air box
- Use a clean cloth to wipe out any dust or leaves from the air box.
- Make sure nothing falls into the intake opening.
Step 6: Install the new filter
- Set the new engine air filter into the housing in the same direction as the old one.
- Make sure the filter edge sits flat all the way around.
Step 7: Reinstall the air box cover
- Lower the cover into place and secure all clips by hand or with the flathead screwdriver if needed.

- Close the hood and make sure it latches fully.
