🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the air cleaner box
- Locate the black air filter housing on the engine side of the bay.
- Use a flat-blade screwdriver if needed to gently release any clips on the airbox cover.
- Lift the cover carefully so you do not drop dirt into the intake.
- Keep the opening clean.
Step 2: Remove the old air filter
- Lift the old filter straight out of the airbox by hand.
- Check how it sits in the housing so the new one goes in the same way.
- Wipe out loose dirt from the airbox with a clean shop towel.
Step 3: Install the new air filter
- Place the new engine air filter into the housing with the sealing edge seated evenly all the way around.
- Make sure it sits flat and does not pinch or fold.
- A crooked filter can let dirt pass through.
Step 4: Reinstall the airbox cover
- Set the cover back on the housing.
- Press it down evenly and reattach any clips by hand.
- If your cover uses screws, tighten them snug with the flat-blade screwdriver; no torque spec is normally listed for this cover.
- Check that the box is fully closed all the way around.

- Make sure the airbox cover is seated correctly.
