🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Locate the air filter box

• Use a work light to find the black plastic air filter box in the engine bay (it’s attached to the intake tube).

Step 2: Unclip (or loosen) the air box cover

• Use your flat-blade screwdriver (small) to gently help release the metal/plastic clips if they’re tight. Don’t pry hard—clips can snap.
• Lift the air box top cover enough to access the filter.

Step 3: Remove the old filter

• Use nitrile gloves and pull the old filter straight out.
• Use a work light to check the air box for leaves or dirt.

Step 4: Clean the air box sealing surface

• Use a clean shop towel to wipe out loose debris and wipe the sealing edge where the filter sits.
• Do not push dirt deeper into the intake opening.

Step 5: Install the new filter

• Use a work light to confirm orientation, then install the new filter fully into the lower air box.
• Make sure it sits flat all the way around with no curled edges. A pinched edge can cause unfiltered air.

Step 6: Close and secure the air box

• Close the air box cover by hand, then use the flat-blade screwdriver (small) only if needed to help seat any stubborn clips.
• Visually confirm the cover is fully closed and even on all sides.
