š Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and put the shifter in Park.
- Power the car OFF and remove the key fob from the cabin area.
- Open the hood and use the flashlight to locate the air box (black plastic box with a large intake tube).
šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Locate the air filter housing
- Use the flashlight to find the air box near the front/side of the engine bay with a big rubber intake tube attached.
Step 2: Unclip the air box cover
- Release the metal spring clips holding the air box lid down.
- If a clip is stuck, gently pry it with a flathead screwdriver (go slow so you donāt crack the plastic).
- Tip: Push the lid down slightly, then unclip.
Step 3: Open the air box and remove the old filter
- Lift the air box lid up just enough to access the filter (you usually donāt need to remove the intake tube).
- Pull the old filter straight out.
- Use a clean shop towel to wipe loose dust from the inside of the air box.
Step 4: Install the new filter correctly
- Place the new filter into the lower air box tray.
- Make sure the filterās rubber edge (gasket) seats evenly all the way aroundāno gaps or folds.
- Tip: If it wonāt sit flat, itās misaligned.
Step 5: Close and secure the air box
- Lower the air box lid back into place.
- Re-engage all the clips by hand; use the flathead screwdriver only if needed to help guide a stubborn clip.
- Do a quick visual check that the lid is fully closed on all sides.

- Start the car and let it idle for 30 seconds.
- Listen for any hissing/whistling (can mean the air box isnāt sealed).
- Take a short drive and confirm no warning lights appear.
