📋 Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
  • Turn the ignition off and let the engine cool.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the air filter housing

  • Open the hood and locate the black air filter box near the top of the engine bay.
  • Release the metal clips or loosen the housing fasteners by hand.
  • Lift the cover carefully without pulling hard on any attached intake duct.

Step 2: Remove the old filter

  • Use your hands to lift the old filter straight out of the housing.
  • Check the housing for leaves, dirt, or bugs and remove them by hand.
  • Keep debris out of the intake.

Step 3: Install the new filter

  • Place the new engine air filter into the housing in the same direction as the old one.
  • Make sure the filter sits flat all the way around the edge.
  • Use your hands to press the cover back into place.

Step 4: Secure the housing

  • Reinstall or snap closed all clips and fasteners by hand.
  • Make sure the cover is fully seated and sealed all the way around.
  • Check that no hoses or wiring were pinched during reassembly.

  • Confirm the air box is fully closed and secure.
  • Recheck the cover after a short drive if needed.
