- ⚠️ Keep tools, rags, and fingers away from the radiator fan area.

- 1/4" drive ratchet
- 1/4" drive 3" extension

- Engine air filter - Qty: 1
📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground, set the parking brake, and turn the engine OFF.
- Open the hood and support it securely.
- Have a shop towel ready to wipe dust from the airbox.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Locate the air filter housing (airbox)
- Open the hood and use a flashlight to find the black plastic airbox near the front/side of the engine bay.
- The airbox is connected to a large intake tube that leads toward the engine.
Step 2: Unclip or unfasten the airbox cover
- Look for metal clips around the airbox edge; release them by hand.
- If your airbox uses screws instead of clips, remove them using a Phillips #2 screwdriver or 8mm socket with a 1/4" drive ratchet and 3" extension.
- Clips can snap back—hold them firmly.
Step 3: Open the airbox and remove the old filter
- Lift the airbox lid up enough to access the filter (you usually don’t need to remove the whole lid).
- Pull the old filter straight out and keep it level to avoid dumping debris into the airbox.
- Use a shop towel to wipe out loose dust inside the lower half of the airbox.
- Do not let dirt fall into the intake tube.
Step 4: Install the new filter correctly
- Place the new filter into the lower airbox exactly the same way the old one came out.
- Make sure the filter sits flat and the rubber seal (if equipped) is fully seated all the way around.
- A properly seated filter prevents unfiltered air (and dust) from bypassing the filter.
Step 5: Close and secure the airbox
- Lower the airbox lid back into place, aligning the edges and tabs.
- Reinstall screws using the Phillips #2 screwdriver or tighten using the 8mm socket, 1/4" drive ratchet, and 3" extension.
- Re-latch all clips by hand.
- If the lid won’t close, the filter isn’t seated.
Step 6: Quick final check
- Gently tug the airbox lid to confirm it’s fully secured.
- Make sure no tools or rags are left in the engine bay.
✅ After Repair
- Start the engine and let it idle for 20–30 seconds.
- Listen for any loud hissing or whistling (a sign the airbox lid isn’t sealed).
- If you hear abnormal intake noise, shut the engine off and re-check the airbox clips/screws and filter seating.
