Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the air box
- Locate the air filter housing and release the retaining clips by hand.
- If a clip is tight, use a flathead screwdriver gently to lift it free.
- Lift the air box lid carefully and set it aside.
- Do not force the cover.
Step 2: Remove the old filter
- Lift the old engine air filter straight out of the housing.
- Check the inside of the air box for leaves, dirt, or debris.

Step 3: Install the new filter
- Place the new engine air filter into the housing in the same direction as the old one.
- Make sure the filter sits flat and fully seals around the edges.
- If it does not sit flush, remove it and reposition it.

- Reinstall the air box lid and make sure the cover lines up correctly.
- Press or clip the retaining clips back into place by hand.
- Confirm the air box is fully sealed all the way around.
