📋 Before You Begin

• Park on level ground and put the transmission in Park.
• Set the parking brake and open the hood.
• Have a shop towel ready so dirt doesn’t fall into the air box.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Locate the air filter housing

• Use a flashlight to find the large black plastic air box in the engine bay (it connects to the intake tube).

Step 2: Unclip the air box lid

• Release the metal retaining clips around the edge of the air box by hand.
• If a clip is tight, gently help it with a flathead screwdriver. Don’t pry hard—clips can bend.

Step 3: Open the air box and remove the old filter

• Lift the air box lid upward to expose the filter.
• Pull the filter straight out.
• Use a shop towel to wipe loose dirt inside the lower air box. Do not drop dirt into the intake.

Step 4: Install the new air filter

• Place the new filter into the lower air box, making sure it sits flat all the way around.
• Check that the rubber seal is fully seated; no corners should be folded.

Step 5: Close and secure the air box

• Lower the lid back into place, aligning the edges.
• Snap all retaining clips back on by hand.
• Do a quick visual check that the lid is evenly closed on all sides.
