🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Open the air cleaner housing

• Locate the air box on the engine side of the compartment.
• Use a flat-blade screwdriver to loosen any retaining screws or release the housing clamps.
• If a fresh-air duct or inlet tube is attached, gently move it aside without forcing it.
• Keep dirt away from the open housing.

Step 2: Remove the old air filter

• Lift the old filter straight out of the air box.
• Check for leaves, dirt, or debris inside the housing.
• Use a clean shop rag to wipe the inside of the box if needed.

Step 3: Install the new air filter

• Place the new engine air filter into the housing in the same orientation as the old one.
• Make sure the rubber sealing edge sits flat all the way around.
• A crooked filter can let unfiltered air in.

Step 4: Close and secure the air box

• Reinstall the air box lid.
• Use the flat-blade screwdriver to tighten the fasteners or re-secure the clamps.
• Make sure the housing is fully seated and locked down.
