šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Locate the air filter housing

- The air box connects to a large intake tube that runs toward the engine.
Step 2: Unlatch the air box cover
- Use your hands to flip open the metal retaining clips on the air box lid.
- If a clip is stubborn, use a flathead screwdriver gently to help pry the clip open. Donāt force itāclips can snap.
Step 3: Open the air box and remove the old filter
- Lift the air box lid just enough to access the filter.
- Pull the old air filter straight out with your hands.
- Use a shop towel to cover the opening if you need a momentāthis helps prevent debris falling in.
Step 4: Clean out the air box (lightly)
- Use a small vacuum to remove loose leaves, sand, or dirt from the bottom of the air box.
- Wipe the sealing surfaces (where the filterās rubber edge sits) with a shop towel.
- Do not vacuum or touch any sensor in the intake tube.
Step 5: Install the new air filter
- Place the new filter into the air box in the same direction as the old one.
- Make sure it sits flat and the rubber seal is fully seated all the way around. A crooked filter can leak unfiltered air.
Step 6: Close the air box and secure it
- Lower the air box lid back into place.
- Re-close all retaining clips by hand until they snap fully shut.
- Do a quick visual check that the lid is evenly closed on all sides.
