š Before You Begin

šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open and ādropā the glove box
- Open the glove box fully by hand.
- Use a trim removal tool (plastic) (specialty) to gently help the glove box sides flex inward (if needed) so the stops can pass the dash opening.
- Lower the glove box down slowly.
Step 2: Disconnect the glove box damper (soft-open arm)
- On the right side of the glove box, locate the small damper arm (it slows the glove box as it opens).
- Carefully pop the damper arm off its pin using your fingers or the trim removal tool (plastic) (specialty).
- Tip: Support the glove box so it doesnāt drop.
Step 3: Find the cabin filter access door
- Look behind the glove box opening using a small flashlight.
- Locate the rectangular cabin filter cover (typically a small door with tabs).
Step 4: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Release the cover tabs by hand (or gently with the trim removal tool (plastic) (specialty)).
- Pull the cover straight off and set it aside.
Step 5: Remove the old cabin air filter
- Slide the old filter straight out.
- Wear nitrile glovesāfilters can be dusty.
Step 6: Install the new cabin air filter (correct direction matters)
- Check the airflow arrow on the new filter frame.
- Install it with the arrow pointing in the same direction as the old filter came out.
- If you didnāt note the old direction: install the new filter so the arrow points toward the blower motor (deeper into the HVAC box).
- Tip: Donāt crush the filterākeep it square.
Step 7: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Reinstall the filter cover until it clicks into place.
- Reconnect the glove box damper arm by pushing it back onto its pin.
- Lift the glove box back up and guide the stops back into position.
- Close the glove box and reopen it to confirm smooth operation.

- š¬ļø Start the car and run the fan at all speeds to confirm good airflow.
- š If there was an odor, run fresh air (not recirculate) for a few minutes.
