🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open and empty the glove box
- Open the glove box fully and remove all items.
- Use your hands to lower the glove box slowly.
- Keep one hand on the glove box.
Step 2: Release the glove box stops
- Use a trim removal tool (plastic) or your fingers to gently squeeze the glove box sides inward.
- Let the glove box drop down further until the stops clear the opening.
- Do not force it past its travel limit.
Step 3: Remove the cabin air filter cover
- Look behind the glove box for the rectangular filter cover.
- Use your fingers to release the retaining tabs and remove the cover.
- Set the cover aside safely.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Use your fingers to slide the old cabin air filter straight out.
- Check the airflow arrow on the old filter so you can match the new one.
- If the filter is dirty, tap loose debris into a trash bag before removal.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Use your hands to slide the new cabin air filter into the slot.
- Make sure the airflow arrow points the same direction as the original filter.
- Push it in fully so it seats flat.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Use your fingers to snap the filter cover back into place.
- Lift the glove box back up and gently squeeze the sides inward to clear the stops.
- Close the glove box normally.
