📋 Before You Begin

• Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
• Slide the passenger seat back and recline it slightly for working room.
• Empty the glove box so nothing falls out while it’s lowered.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Locate the cabin filter housing

• Open the glove box fully.
• Use a flashlight to look behind/around the glove box area; the cabin filter access is behind the glove box on your Charger.

Step 2: Lower the glove box

• On the right side of the glove box, locate the small damper arm (a little “shock” that slows the glove box). Use a trim removal tool (plastic pry tool) to gently pop it off its peg.
• Push inward on both sides of the glove box to clear the side stops, then let the glove box rotate downward slowly.
• Tip: Push both sides evenly to avoid cracking.

Step 3: Remove the cabin filter cover

• Find the rectangular filter door/cover behind the glove box.
• Release the cover tabs by hand; if a screw is present on your cover, remove it using a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 4: Remove the old cabin air filter

• Put on nitrile gloves and pull the filter straight out.
• Use the flashlight to check the housing for leaves/debris, and remove debris by hand.

Step 5: Install the new cabin air filter

• Look for the airflow arrow on the new filter frame.
• Install the filter in the same direction as the arrow shown for airflow on the housing/old filter (airflow direction must match).
• Slide it in carefully so it doesn’t fold or crush.

Step 6: Reinstall the filter cover

• Reinstall the cover and fully seat the tabs by hand.
• If your cover used a screw, reinstall it with a Phillips screwdriver (snug only—do not overtighten).

Step 7: Reinstall the glove box

• Rotate the glove box back up into place.
• Push inward on both sides again to pass the side stops back into position.
• Reconnect the damper arm onto its peg by hand (use the trim removal tool (plastic pry tool) only if needed to guide it).

• Start the engine and run the blower on medium-high for 30 seconds.
• Confirm airflow is stronger and there are no rattles from the glove box area.
• If you notice a whistling noise, re-check that the filter cover is fully latched.
