- Let the glove box swing downward toward the floor.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter access door
- Behind the dropped glove box, find the rectangular cabin filter cover.
- Release the cover tabs by hand; if needed, use the plastic trim removal tool (specialty) to gently help the tabs.
- Remove the cover and set it aside.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Pull the old cabin air filter straight out by hand.
- Wear nitrile gloves and keep the filter level to avoid dumping debris.
Step 5: Install the new filter (correct direction)
- Check the new filter for an āAIR FLOWā arrow printed on the side.
- Install it in the same orientation as the old one (the arrow must point the same direction as it did before). Use the flashlight to confirm the arrow direction before sliding it fully in.
- Slide the filter in until it sits flat and fully seatedādonāt force it.
Step 6: Reassemble the glove box
- Reinstall the filter access door by hand until the tabs click into place.
- Lift the glove box back up and push the sides inward again to pass the stops.
- Reconnect the damper strap by hand (use the plastic trim removal tool (specialty) only if needed to guide it).
- Close the glove box.
ā After Repair
