📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Make sure the glove box is empty so it can drop fully.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the glove box
- Use your hand to open the glove box and remove any items inside.
Step 2: Release the glove box stop tabs
- Push in on both sides of the glove box to release the side stops.
- Lower the glove box down carefully.
- Move slowly to avoid cracking the tabs.
Step 3: Disconnect the damper arm
- Use a flat trim tool or your fingers to unclip the glove box damper arm from the right side.
- The damper arm is the small plastic arm that slows glove box movement.
Step 4: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Press the side tabs on the cabin filter access cover and pull the cover off.
- Keep the cover and tabs in a safe place.
Step 5: Remove the old filter
- Pull the old cabin air filter straight out by hand.
- Note the airflow arrow on the filter before removing it.
Step 6: Install the new filter
- Slide the new filter into place by hand.
- Make sure the airflow arrow points in the same direction as the old filter.
- Do not force it.
Step 7: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Use your hands to snap the filter cover back into place.
- Reattach the glove box damper arm.
- Push the glove box side tabs back into position.
- Close the glove box and check that it opens and closes smoothly.

- Turn on the blower fan and check for normal airflow.
- Make sure there are no rattles behind the glove box.
- If air still smells musty, check the evaporator case for moisture or debris.
