Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Access the passenger-side filter area
- Open the front passenger door and look under the glovebox area.

- If your Tiguan has retaining screws, remove them with the T20 Torx screwdriver.
Step 2: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Locate the rectangular cabin filter cover behind the lower dash area.
- Use your fingers or the trim panel removal tool to release the cover tabs.
- Pull the cover straight down or outward, depending on how the tabs are oriented.
Step 3: Remove the old filter
