📋 Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Open the glove box and clear out the contents.
- Work gently around the glove box stops.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the glove box
- Use your hands to open the glove box fully.
- Empty the contents so nothing falls out during the repair.
Step 2: Release the glove box stops
- Use your hands to gently squeeze the sides of the glove box inward.
- This lets the glove box drop down farther and expose the filter housing.
- Do not pry hard on the plastic.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Locate the rectangular cabin filter cover behind the glove box.
- Use your hands to unclip the cover and remove it.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Pull the old cabin air filter straight out by hand.
- Pay attention to the airflow arrow on the filter housing before removing it.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Insert the new cabin air filter in the same direction as the airflow arrow.
- Make sure the filter sits flat and fully seated in the housing.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Snap the filter cover back into place by hand.
- Lift the glove box back up and let the sides snap past the stops.
- Close the glove box and make sure it opens and closes normally.

- Start the vehicle and turn the fan on high.
- Check that airflow is stronger and the air smells clean.
- If airflow is weak, recheck that the filter is seated correctly.
