📋 Before You Begin

• Slide the passenger seat back for more working room.
• Turn the HVAC system off so it isn’t trying to pull air while the filter is out.
• Trim tool = plastic pry tool for panels.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Access the cabin filter area (choose the matching layout)

• Use a flashlight and look under the passenger-side dash and behind/around the glove box to find the cabin filter access cover (a small rectangular door).
• If you see screws holding a lower hush panel (under-dash cover), use a 7mm socket with 1/4" ratchet and 3" socket extension to remove them, then pull the panel down carefully.
• If a side trim panel blocks access, use a trim removal tool to gently pop the clips loose.

Step 2: Remove the cabin air filter access cover

• If the cover uses screws, remove them with a 7mm socket (or a Phillips screwdriver if Phillips screws are used).
• If the cover is clipped in, press the tabs by hand and pull the cover off. Pull straight to avoid breaking tabs.
• Set the cover and screws somewhere safe.

Step 3: Remove the old cabin air filter

• Put on nitrile gloves.
• Slide the old filter straight out. Use a flashlight to watch that it doesn’t snag.
• Note the airflow arrow on the filter frame (it shows which way air should flow).

Step 4: Install the new cabin air filter

• Compare the new filter to the old one (same size and shape).
• Install the new filter with the airflow arrow matching the direction you noted when removing the old filter.
• Push it in evenly until it fully seats (no folding or bowing).

Step 5: Reinstall the cover and panels

• Reinstall the cabin filter cover by hand first (align tabs), then tighten screws using a 7mm socket or Phillips screwdriver.
• If you removed the lower hush panel, reinstall it and tighten its screws using a 7mm socket.
• If you removed side trim, line up the clips and press it back in by hand.

• Start your A/C and set the fan to medium-high to confirm strong airflow and no rattles.
• Make sure the glove box and lower panels open/close normally and nothing is hanging down.
• If airflow is weak, recheck filter direction.
