🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

- Go slow to avoid cracking the tabs.
Step 2: Lower the glove box
- Let the glove box hang down carefully.
- If your Sierra has a glove box damper strap on one side, unclip it by hand.
- Use a flashlight to locate the cabin filter cover behind the glove box opening.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Use your fingers or a trim panel tool to release the retaining tabs on the filter door.
- Pull the cover straight out.
- Keep the cover and tabs clean.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Slide the old cabin air filter straight out.
- Note the airflow arrow on the filter before removing it.
- If the filter is dirty, tap it gently in a trash bag to keep dust down.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Use nitrile gloves to keep the new filter clean.
- Slide the new filter into the slot with the airflow arrow pointing the same direction as the old one.
- Make sure it seats fully and does not buckle.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Snap the filter cover back into place by hand.
- Reattach the glove box damper strap if equipped.
- Lift the glove box back up and gently squeeze the sides inward to clear the stops.
- Close the glove box and check that it opens and closes normally.
✅ After Repair
