- Open the glove box and clear out all contents first.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open and empty the glove box
- Open the glove box fully and remove everything inside.
- Use your hands to lower the glove box carefully.
Step 2: Release the glove box stops
- Push in on both sides of the glove box with your hands.
- This lets the glove box drop down farther so you can reach the filter door.
- Work slowly to avoid breaking tabs.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Locate the filter access cover behind the glove box.
- Use your hands to unclip the cover and remove it.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Slide the old cabin air filter out by hand.
- Pay attention to the airflow arrow on the filter before removing it.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Use your hands to slide the new filter into the housing.
- Match the airflow arrow on the filter with the direction marked on the housing.
- Arrow direction matters.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Reinstall the filter cover by hand until it clicks into place.
- Lift the glove box back into position and snap the side stops back in.
- Make sure the damper arm is reattached if it came loose.
