- Park on a level surface and turn the ignition off.
- Open the glove box and remove any contents.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open and empty the glove box
- Open the glove box fully and remove everything inside.
- Hold the glove box steady so it does not drop down too fast.
Step 2: Release the glove box stops
- Gently squeeze the sides of the glove box inward by hand to clear the stops.
- Lower the glove box down until it hangs open.
- Do not force the hinges.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Locate the rectangular filter cover behind the glove box.
- Release the tabs by hand and remove the cover.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Pull the old cabin air filter straight out.
- Note the airflow arrow on the old filter before removing it.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Insert the new cabin air filter in the same direction as the airflow arrow.
- Make sure the filter sits flat and fully seated in the housing.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Reinstall the filter cover by hand until it clicks into place.
- Lift the glove box back up and press the sides inward if needed so it passes the stops.
- Close the glove box normally.

- Make sure the glove box opens and closes normally.
- If airflow is still weak, the filter may be installed backward or not seated fully.
