- Open the passenger door so you have room to work.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the glove box
- Open the glove box fully.
- Remove any items inside so nothing falls out.
Step 2: Release the glove box stops
- Use your hands to gently squeeze the sides of the glove box inward.
- This lets the stops clear the opening so the glove box can drop down.
- Do not force it.
Step 3: Remove the filter cover
- Look behind the glove box for the rectangular cabin filter cover.
- Use your hands to unclip and remove the cover.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Pull the old cabin air filter straight out by hand.
- Note the airflow arrow on the old filter before removing it.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Insert the new cabin air filter in the same direction as the airflow arrow.
- Make sure it sits flat and fully inside the housing.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Snap the filter cover back into place by hand.
- Lift the glove box back up and push the sides inward if needed to clear the stops.
- Close the glove box and check that it opens and closes normally.
