🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the glove box
- Open the glove box and remove any items inside.
- Use your hands to lower the glove box fully.
- Work slowly to avoid broken tabs.
Step 2: Release the glove box stop tabs
- Use a flat trim tool if needed to gently press the side walls of the glove box inward.
- Let the glove box swing down farther until it hangs open.
- This exposes the cabin filter housing behind it.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Use your hands to unclip the filter access cover.
- Pull the cover straight off and set it aside.
- Note the direction of the old filter’s airflow arrow before removal.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Pull the old cabin air filter straight out.
- If it is dirty or folded, keep it level so debris does not fall out.
- Vacuum loose leaves before installing the new filter.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Slide the new cabin air filter into the housing in the same direction as the airflow arrow.
- Make sure it seats flat and is not bent.
- Do not pinch the filter pleats.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Snap the filter cover back into place by hand.
- Lift the glove box back up and re-engage the side stops.
- Close the glove box slowly and verify it opens and closes normally.
