🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open the glove box
- Open the glove box fully and clear out the contents.
- Support the glove box so it does not hang by the hinge.
Step 2: Release the glove box stops
- Use your hands to gently squeeze the sides of the glove box inward.
- This lets the glove box drop down farther so you can reach the filter housing.
- Work slowly to avoid cracking plastic.
Step 3: Remove the cabin filter cover
- Look behind the glove box for the rectangular cabin filter cover.
- Use a trim panel tool to carefully release the retaining tabs and remove the cover.
- If there are tabs on both sides, press them evenly before pulling the cover off.
Step 4: Remove the old filter
- Pull the old cabin air filter straight out by hand.
- Note the airflow direction arrow on the filter before removing it.
Step 5: Install the new filter
- Use the flashlight to check the airflow arrow on the new filter.
- Slide the new filter into the housing with the arrow pointing in the same direction as the old one.
- Make sure the filter seats evenly and is not bent.
Step 6: Reinstall the cover and glove box
- Use your hands to snap the cabin filter cover back into place.
- Lift the glove box back up and press the sides inward if needed to clear the stops.
- Close the glove box and verify it opens and closes normally.
✅ After Repair
- Start the car and turn the fan on to check airflow.
