📋 Before You Begin

• Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
• Move the passenger seat back to give yourself room.
• Have a trash bag ready—old filters can be dusty.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Empty and open the glove box

• Open the glove box and remove any items so nothing falls out.
• Use a flashlight to look along the right side of the glove box for a small “damper” arm (a little strap that slows the glove box).

Step 2: Disconnect the glove box damper

• Gently pry the damper off its pin using a plastic trim removal tool.
• Damper = the small arm that controls glove box drop.

Step 3: Drop the glove box down

• Press inward on both sides of the glove box to clear the built-in stops.
• Lower the glove box fully so you can see the cabin filter housing behind it.

Step 4: Remove the cabin filter cover

• Locate the rectangular cover directly behind the glove box.
• Release the side tabs by hand; if tight, use the plastic trim removal tool to help.
• Set the cover aside.

Step 5: Pull out the filter tray and old filter

• Slide the filter tray straight out toward you.
• Remove the old filter from the tray (wear nitrile gloves and use safety glasses if it’s dusty).

Step 6: Install the new cabin filter (correct direction)

• Check the airflow arrow on the new filter frame.
• Install it in the tray with the arrow pointing DOWN (toward the floor) on your Accord.
• If it won’t slide in, flip the filter orientation.

Step 7: Reinstall the tray and cover

• Slide the tray back into the housing until fully seated (use your hands—no tools needed).
• Reinstall the cover and press until both side tabs click in place.

Step 8: Reattach the glove box

• Lift the glove box back up.
• Press the sides inward again to pass the stops back into place.
• Reconnect the damper to its pin (use the plastic trim removal tool gently if needed).

✅ After Repair

• Start the engine and run the blower on speeds 1–4 to confirm good airflow.
• Turn A/C on and verify there’s no rattling from the glove box area.
• If you still smell musty air, you may have leaves/debris in the blower area (ask and I’ll walk you through cleaning it).
