🔧 Battery - Replacement
Your battery on the Grand Cherokee sits under the front passenger seat area, so the job is a little different than a typical under-hood battery swap. You’ll remove the seat access trim, disconnect the battery safely, then install the new battery and reset the vehicle’s electrical system.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1.0 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the ignition off and remove the key fob from the vehicle before starting.
- Battery terminals can spark; keep metal tools away from both terminals at the same time.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable first and reconnect it last.
- Do not turn the seat adjustment switch while the battery is disconnected.
- If your vehicle has power seats or seat memory, keep clear of the seat tracks and wiring under the seat.
- Battery reset may affect window auto-up, steering angle, and idle learning; a short relearn may be needed after install.
