🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the hood and locate the battery
- Open the hood and secure the prop rod.
- The battery is in the engine compartment on your Silverado.
- Look for the red positive cover.
Step 2: Disconnect the negative cable
- Use a 10mm socket and ratchet to loosen the negative terminal clamp.
- Lift the negative cable off the battery post and move it aside so it cannot touch metal.
Step 3: Disconnect the positive cable
- Open the red cover on the positive terminal.
- Use a 10mm socket to loosen the positive clamp.

Step 4: Remove the battery hold-down

- Close the red positive cover.
- Close the hood.
