🔧 Battery Replacement - Battery Change
The battery on your Sierra is a straightforward swap, but it must be handled carefully because the battery is heavy and can spark if tools bridge the terminals. After replacement, make sure the connections are tight and clean so the truck starts and charges properly.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.5-1 hour
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the ignition off and remove the key before starting.
- Wear safety glasses and gloves. Battery acid can burn skin and eyes.
- Disconnect the negative cable first, then the positive cable.
- Keep metal tools away from both battery posts at the same time.
- The battery is heavy. Lift with both hands and keep it level.
- If your truck has aftermarket electronics, you may lose stored settings when power is removed.
