šØ Step-by-Step Instructions

- Open the tailgate to access the inboard edge of the taillight.
- Use a Torx T15 screwdriver to remove the two screws along the inside edge of the taillight.
- Put the screws somewhere safe so they donāt fall into the bumper.
Step 2: Pull the taillight housing straight back
- Grip the housing with both hands and pull it straight rearward (toward you).
- If it feels stuck, use a trim clip removal tool to gently help it release at the outer edge.
- Pull straight backādonāt pry the lens.
- Once free, support the lamp so it doesnāt hang by the wiring.
Step 3: Remove the bulb socket youāre replacing
- Look at the back of the housing and find the socket for the bulb you want to change.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise about 1/4 turn by hand and pull it out.
- If itās tight, use a small flat-blade screwdriver gently to help start the twist (donāt crack the plastic).
- A āsocketā is the plastic holder the bulb locks into.
Step 4: Swap the bulb
- Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket.
- Push the new bulb straight in until fully seated.
- Wear nitrile gloves to keep oils off the glass (helps bulb life).
Step 5: Reinstall the socket and test
- Insert the socket back into the housing and twist clockwise to lock.
- Turn the key to ON and test the function you changed (tail, brake, turn, or reverse).
- Use a flashlight to confirm the bulb is lit and seated evenly.
Step 6: Reinstall the taillight housing
- Line up the housing alignment pins with the body holes and press the housing straight forward into place.
- Reinstall the two screws using a Torx T15 screwdriver.
- Snug them down by handādo not over-tighten (plastic can crack).
Step 7: Repeat on the other side
- Do the same steps on the other taillight so both sides match brightness and color.
ā After Repair
- Test all rear lights: parking lights, brake lights, turn signals, hazards, and reverse lights.
- Check that the taillight sits flush against the body (helps prevent water leaks).
