🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Remove the door trim panel
- Use a 7mm socket and ratchet to remove the screws from the door pull and lower trim area.
- Use a trim panel removal tool to pop the panel clips loose around the edge of the door.
- Lift the panel upward to unhook it from the top door ledge.
- Disconnect any electrical connectors from the window switches if needed.
Step 2: Disconnect the mirror wiring
- Locate the mirror connector near the front upper corner of the door.
- Press the lock tab and unplug the connector by hand.
- Do not pull on the wires.
Step 3: Remove the old mirror
- Use a 10mm socket, ratchet, and socket extension to remove the 3 mirror mounting nuts.
- Hold the mirror from the outside while removing the last nut.
- Lift the mirror away from the door.
- Remove the old foam gasket if it stays on the door.
Step 4: Install the new mirror
- Set the new mirror in place and align the studs with the door holes.
- Install the 3 mounting nuts by hand first.
- Use a 10mm socket and torque wrench to tighten the nuts evenly.
- Torque to 8 Nm (71 ft-lbs).
- Reconnect the mirror electrical connector until it clicks.
Step 5: Reinstall the door trim panel
- Reconnect the switch connectors if they were unplugged.
- Hang the top of the panel on the door ledge first.
- Press the panel clips back into place around the perimeter.
- Use a 7mm socket to reinstall the screws.
- Make sure every clip seats fully.
Step 6: Reconnect power and test
- Reconnect the negative battery cable.
- Test mirror adjustment, heat, and any turn signal or puddle light functions if equipped.
- Check that the mirror is secure and does not shake.
