🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the rear hatch and access the lamp area
- Open the liftgate fully.
- Move any cargo out of the way so you can reach the rear lamp access area.
- Use a flashlight to locate the rear lamp service covers inside the hatch opening.
Step 2: Remove the access cover
- Use a trim panel tool to carefully pry off the rear lamp access cover.
- Work slowly so you do not damage the plastic clips.
- Keep the cover in a safe spot.
Step 3: Remove the turn signal bulb socket
- Reach into the opening and locate the turn signal bulb socket.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise by hand and pull it straight out.
- If it feels stuck, wiggle gently instead of forcing it.
Step 4: Replace the bulb
- Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket.
- Install the new bulb into the socket by pushing it in firmly.
- Make sure the bulb is fully seated and straight.
Step 5: Reinstall the socket
- Align the socket tabs with the housing.
- Insert the socket and twist it clockwise until it locks.
- Check that it sits snugly in place.
Step 6: Test the turn signal
- Turn the ignition on.
- Activate the left and right turn signals one at a time.
- Confirm the rear bulbs flash normally.
- If the bulb does not light, remove it and reinstall it, then test again.
Step 7: Reinstall the access cover
- Snap the access cover back into place by hand.
- Make sure it is fully seated and flush with the trim.
