🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Open the liftgate and access the tail lamp fasteners
- Open the liftgate fully.
- Locate the two tail lamp retaining screws on the inside edge of the lamp housing.
- Use a 7mm socket with a ratchet and short extension to remove the screws.
Step 2: Remove the tail lamp housing
- Gently pull the tail lamp straight rearward to release the locating pins.
- If it sticks, use a trim panel tool to help ease it out without scratching the paint.
- Pull straight back, not sideways.
Step 3: Remove the bulb socket
- Find the rear turn signal bulb socket on the back of the lamp assembly.
- Twist the socket counterclockwise by hand and pull it out.
- Remove the bulb from the socket.
Step 4: Install the new bulb
- Install the new rear turn signal bulb into the socket.
- Make sure it seats fully and sits straight.
- If the bulb is a halogen type, wear gloves to keep the glass clean.
Step 5: Reinstall the socket and lamp housing
- Insert the bulb socket back into the lamp assembly.
- Twist it clockwise until it locks in place.
- Set the tail lamp housing back into position and align the locating pins.
- Use the 7mm socket and ratchet to reinstall the screws.
- Torque to 2.5 Nm (22 in-lbs).
Step 6: Test the new bulb
- Turn the ignition on.
- Activate the left and right turn signals one at a time.
- Confirm both the front and rear turn signals flash normally.

- Check that the tail lamp sits flush with the body.
- Make sure no warning message appears on the dash.
- Verify the brake light and tail light still work normally.
