- Park on a level surface and turn the ignition off.
- Set the parking brake.
- Place a clean towel on the windshield near each wiper arm base.
- Be gentle with the bare wiper arm.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the wiper arm
- Raise the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays upright.
- Use your hand only. Do not use a tool here.
- Place the towel under the arm in case it slips.
Step 2: Remove the old blade
- Locate the small release tab where the blade meets the arm.
- Press the tab by hand and slide the blade downward to release it.
- Keep your fingers clear of the glass.
Step 3: Install the new driver-side blade
- Take the 28" front wiper blade and align the connector with the arm.
- Slide it into place until you hear or feel a click.
- Gently pull on the blade to confirm it is locked in.
Step 4: Repeat for the passenger side
- Lift the passenger-side wiper arm.
- Remove the old blade using the release tab.
- Install the 16" front wiper blade and confirm it locks securely.
Step 5: Lower the arms carefully
- Lower each wiper arm slowly back onto the windshield.
- Do not let the arm snap down.
- Use the towel to protect the glass while lowering.
