🔧 Front Wiper Blade Replacement - Replacement

Replacing the front wiper blades on your Camry is a quick job. The old blades slide off the wiper arms and the new ones snap into place. Fresh blades help restore clear visibility in rain and light road spray.

Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.25-0.5 hours

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

  • Turn the ignition off before lifting the wiper arms.
  • Lift one wiper arm at a time so it does not snap back against the glass.
  • Protect the windshield with a towel if needed.
  • No battery disconnect is required.

🔧 Required Tools

You'll need the following tools for this repair:

  • Clean towel
  • Safety glasses
  • Gloves

🔩 Required Parts

HowToo sells all the parts you need for this repair:

  • Front wiper blade - Driver: 26" - Qty: 1
  • Front wiper blade - Passenger: 18" - Qty: 1

📋 Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
  • Turn the ignition off and make sure the wipers are at rest.
  • Use a towel on the windshield if you want extra protection.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Lift the driver-side wiper arm

  • Gently lift the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays up on its own.
  • Place a clean towel on the glass if you want to prevent accidental scratches.
  • Hold the arm firmly while working.

Step 2: Remove the old blade

  • Press the small release tab on the blade connector by hand.
  • Slide the old blade down and off the wiper arm.
  • If it is tight, wiggle it gently while keeping the arm steady.

Step 3: Install the new driver-side blade

  • Use the new 26" front wiper blade and align the connector with the wiper arm hook.
  • Slide the blade into place until you hear or feel it click.
  • Give it a light tug to make sure it is locked in.

Step 4: Repeat on the passenger side

  • Lift the passenger-side wiper arm with your hand.
  • Remove the old blade the same way.
  • Install the new 18" front wiper blade and confirm it clicks into place.

Step 5: Lower the wiper arms carefully

  • Slowly lower each arm back onto the windshield.
  • Do not let the arm drop onto the glass.
  • Lower them one at a time.

✅ After Repair

  • Turn the wipers on and spray washer fluid to check both blades.
  • Make sure both blades sweep smoothly and do not chatter or skip.
  • Confirm the rubber sits flat against the windshield.
