🔧 Silverado 1500 - Front Windshield Wiper Replacement
Your front wiper blades wear out from sun, rain, and road grime. Replacing them restores clear visibility and helps prevent streaking, skipping, and windshield chatter.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.2-0.5 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- Turn the ignition off before starting.
- Keep the wiper arm held securely when the blade is removed; a bare arm can snap back and crack the glass.
- Do not force the plastic connector. The blade should release with light movement.
- If the wipers are frozen to the windshield, let the glass warm up first.

You'll need the following tools for this repair:
- New front wiper blades, 22-inch

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the wiper arm

- Hold the arm steady so it cannot snap back.
- Move slowly to protect the glass.
Step 2: Remove the old blade
- Use your fingers to press the release tab on the blade connector.
- Slide the blade downward off the J-hook style arm connector.
- If it sticks, wiggle it gently instead of forcing it.
Step 3: Install the new blade
- Use the new 22-inch blade and line up the connector with the arm hook.
- Slide the blade onto the arm until it clicks into place.
- Pull lightly on the blade to confirm it is locked.
Step 4: Repeat on the passenger side
- Use the same process to remove the passenger-side blade.
- Install the new 22-inch passenger blade and make sure it clicks in securely.
Step 5: Lower the arms carefully
- Use both hands to lower each arm back onto the windshield.
- Make sure the blades sit flat and aligned.
