🔧 Front Windshield Wipers - Replacement

Replacing the front wiper blades on your Sequoia is a quick job. Fresh blades help restore clear visibility, reduce streaking, and keep the windshield clean in rain or dust.

Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.2-0.5 hours

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

  • Keep the wiper arms from snapping back onto the glass; the spring tension can crack the windshield.
  • Turn the ignition off before starting so the wipers do not move unexpectedly.
  • If the wiper arm lifts away from the glass, hold it firmly while changing the blade.
  • Use a towel on the windshield if you want extra protection while learning the blade clip style.

🔧 Required Tools

You'll need the following tools for this repair:

  • Clean towel
  • Gloves
  • Safety glasses

🔩 Required Parts

HowToo sells all the parts you need for this repair:

  • Front wiper blade - Driver: 26" - Qty: 1
  • Front wiper blade - Passenger: 22" - Qty: 1

📋 Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground with the ignition off.
  • Set the parking brake.
  • Lift one wiper arm at a time and place a towel on the windshield under the arm.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Lift the wiper arm

  • Use your hand to gently lift the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays upright.
  • Do not let the arm snap back.

Step 2: Remove the old blade

  • Locate the small release tab where the blade connects to the arm.
  • Press the tab with your fingers and slide the blade downward to release it from the hook-style arm.
  • If it feels stuck, wiggle the blade slightly while keeping the arm steady.

Step 3: Install the new driver blade

  • Use the 26-inch front wiper blade and slide it onto the arm hook until it clicks into place.
  • Pull lightly on the blade to confirm it is locked in.

Step 4: Lower the driver arm

  • Carefully lower the driver-side arm back onto the glass.
  • Lower it slowly.

Step 5: Replace the passenger blade

  • Repeat the same process on the passenger side.
  • Use the 22-inch front wiper blade and make sure it clicks securely into place.
  • Lower the passenger arm gently onto the windshield.

✅ After Repair

  • Turn the ignition on and run the wipers with washer fluid to verify smooth operation.
  • Check that both blades clear the glass evenly without chatter or streaking.
  • If a blade lifts or skips, recheck that it is fully locked onto the arm.
