📋 Before You Begin

• Park your Tucson on level ground and switch the ignition OFF.
• Make sure the wiper switch is in the OFF position.
• Lift each front wiper arm gently away from the windshield until it stays raised.
• Place a microfiber towel on the windshield under the raised wiper arm.
• The Tucson uses a common hook-style wiper arm. A hook-style arm has a curved “J” shaped end that locks into the wiper blade connector.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Protect the Windshield

• Put on safety glasses and nitrile gloves.
• Use a microfiber towel and lay it flat on the windshield below the driver-side wiper arm.
• Lift the driver-side wiper arm carefully until it stays up.
• Never let the bare arm drop.

Step 2: Release the Old Driver-Side Blade

• Hold the wiper arm firmly with one hand.
• Use your other hand to find the small locking tab on the wiper blade connector.
• Press the locking tab with your thumb.
• Slide the old blade downward toward the base of the wiper arm until it comes out of the hook.
• No torque spec applies because this repair uses a snap-lock connector, not bolts.

Step 3: Remove the Old Driver-Side Blade

• Rotate the blade slightly so it clears the hook end of the wiper arm.
• Pull the old blade away from the arm by hand.

Step 6: Replace the Passenger-Side Blade

• Place the microfiber towel under the passenger-side wiper arm.
• Lift the passenger-side wiper arm away from the windshield.
• Press the locking tab by hand and slide the old blade downward out of the hook.
• Install the new 16" front wiper blade by sliding it into the hook until it clicks.
• Gently tug the blade by hand to confirm it is locked.
• Lower the wiper arm carefully back onto the windshield.

Step 7: Clean the Windshield

• Use the microfiber towel to wipe the windshield where the blades sit.
• If the new blades have protective plastic covers, remove them by hand before testing.
