- Turn the ignition OFF and make sure the wipers are parked at the bottom of the windshield.
- Lay a microfiber towel on the windshield under the wiper you’re working on.
- If your new blades came with multiple adapters, pick the one that matches the factory arm connector before you start.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the driver-side wiper arm
- Lift the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays up on its own.
- Keep the microfiber towel on the glass under the arm.
Step 2: Release the blade from the wiper arm
- Rotate the wiper blade so you can see where it connects to the wiper arm.
- Find the small locking tab on the blade adapter.
- Press the tab using your thumb, or use a plastic trim removal tool to gently press it if it’s stubborn.
- While the tab is pressed, slide the blade down/off the end of the wiper arm connector.
- If it fights you, wiggle while sliding.
Step 3: Install the new driver-side wiper blade
- Compare the new blade to the old one to confirm similar connector style and length.
- Slide the new blade onto the wiper arm connector until you hear/feel a solid “click.”
- Gently tug on the blade to confirm it’s locked.
Step 4: Lower the driver-side wiper arm carefully
- Lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield slowly with your hand.
- Do not let it snap down.
Step 5: Repeat on the passenger-side
- Repeat Steps 1–4 for the passenger-side wiper arm and blade.
Step 6: Test the wipers
- Start the engine and spray washer fluid.
- Run the wipers on low speed for 10–15 seconds to confirm smooth, quiet operation.
- If there’s streaking, wipe the windshield with a clean towel and try again.
âś… After Repair
- Verify both blades park correctly and don’t hit the windshield trim.
- Confirm washer spray hits the glass and the blades clear evenly.
