šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Put the wipers into service position
- Lay a microfiber towel on the lower edge of the windshield as a safety cushion.
- Try this first (common Highlander procedure): turn ignition ON, then OFF.
- Within about 45 seconds, move the wiper lever to MIST (one quick up-flick) and release.
- If the wipers do not move up: repeat, but flick to MIST twice.
- Service position = blades stop mid-windshield.
Step 2: Lift the wiper arms safely
- Lift the driver-side arm away from the glass.
- Keep a microfiber towel under the arm area for protection.
- Do the same for the passenger-side arm.
Step 3: Remove the old wiper blade (one side at a time)
- Rotate the blade so itās roughly perpendicular to the wiper arm.
- Find the small release tab/clip at the connection point.
- Press the release tab with your fingers; if itās stuck, gently help it with a small flathead screwdriver (do not pry hard).
- Slide the old blade off the hook-style arm.
- Hold the armādonāt let it snap down.
Step 4: Install the new wiper blade
- Confirm youāre installing the correct blade for that side (compare length to the old one).
- Slide the new blade onto the hook until it clicks into place.
- Tug lightly to confirm itās locked.
Step 5: Repeat for the other side
