🔧 Titan - Front Wiper Blade Replacement

Replacing the front wiper blades on your Titan is a quick job: you’ll lift the wiper arms, unclip the old blades, and snap the new ones in place. Fresh blades improve visibility and reduce windshield streaking and chatter.

Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.25-0.5 hours

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

  • 🛑 Turn the ignition OFF and remove the key/fob from the truck.
  • 🛑 Don’t let a bare wiper arm snap onto the glass—set a towel on the windshield to protect it.
  • 🛑 Work on a stable, level surface so the arms don’t move unexpectedly.
  • 🛑 Battery disconnect is not required for this job.

🔧 Required Tools

You'll need the following tools for this repair:

  • Nitrile gloves
  • Microfiber towel
  • Small flathead screwdriver
  • Safety glasses

🔩 Required Parts

HowToo sells all the parts you need for this repair:

  • Front wiper blades - Replace in pairs - Qty: 2

đź“‹ Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground and make sure the wipers are in their “parked” (down) position.
  • Place a microfiber towel on the lower windshield where the wiper arms could touch.
  • If the hood edge blocks the wiper arms, put the wipers into “service position” (see Step 1).

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Put the wipers in a safe position to lift

  • Use nitrile gloves and gently try lifting each wiper arm. If they lift freely, continue to Step 2.
  • If the wiper arms hit the hood edge, use this common Nissan “service position” attempt: switch ignition ON, then OFF, then use the wiper stalk to flick to MIST a couple times to move the blades upward.
  • If that doesn’t work on your Titan, don’t force it—tell me what happens (arms blocked by hood vs they lift normally) and I’ll give the correct service-position method for your setup.

Step 2: Lift and protect the windshield

  • Use nitrile gloves to lift one wiper arm away from the glass until it stays up.
  • Keep the microfiber towel under the arm area as a “soft landing” just in case.
  • Do one side at a time.

Step 3: Unclip the old wiper blade from the arm

  • Use nitrile-gloved hands to rotate the blade so you can see the connector where it clips to the arm.
  • Press the release tab with your thumb. If it’s stuck, use a small flathead screwdriver to gently press the tab (don’t pry hard).
  • Slide the blade down/off the arm hook/connector and remove it.
  • Uncommon term: The “release tab” is the small locking button that keeps the blade from sliding off.

Step 4: Match and prep the new blade

  • Use nitrile-gloved hands to compare the new blade to the old blade for the same length and the same connector style.
  • If your new blade came with adapter pieces, use nitrile-gloved hands to snap on the adapter that matches your old connector.

Step 5: Install the new wiper blade

  • Use nitrile-gloved hands to slide the new blade onto the arm connector until you hear/feel a solid “click.”
  • Gently tug the blade with your hand to confirm it’s locked.

Step 6: Lower the arm and repeat on the other side

  • Use nitrile-gloved hands to lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield slowly.
  • Repeat Steps 2–5 for the other front wiper.
  • Remove the microfiber towel when both arms are back down.

âś… After Repair

  • 🧪 Test the wipers with washer fluid: run low speed, high speed, and one “mist” swipe.
  • Check for skipping/chattering. If it happens, clean the glass with washer fluid and wipe the blades with a damp towel.
  • Make sure both blades are fully seated and not installed on the wrong side (lengths can differ).

đź’° DIY vs Shop Cost

Shop Cost: $40-$90 (parts + labor)

DIY Cost: $25-$60 (parts only)

You Save: $15-$30 by doing it yourself!

Shop labor rates vary but typically run $100-$150/hour. This repair takes a shop approximately 0.2-0.4 hours.
