🔧 Murano - Front Wiper Blade Replacement
Replacing the front wiper blades on your Murano is a quick job: you’ll lift each wiper arm, release the old blade from the arm, then click the new blade on. The key is preventing the bare metal arm from snapping back onto the windshield.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.25-0.5 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- ⚠️ Do not let the wiper arm snap back onto the glass; it can crack the windshield.
- ⚠️ Keep fingers clear of hinge points when lifting the wiper arms.
- ⚠️ Ignition OFF while working around the wipers.

You'll need the following tools for this repair:

đź“‹ Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and turn the ignition OFF.
- Place a microfiber towel on the lower windshield/cowl area as a cushion.
- Put a short strip of masking tape on the windshield to mark where each blade parks. Helps confirm correct installation.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the wiper arm safely
- Lift the driver-side wiper arm up and away from the windshield until it stays up.
- If it doesn’t want to lift far (hits the hood edge), lift it only as much as it allows and continue—just work carefully.
- Keep the microfiber towel on the glass under the arm in case it slips.
Step 2: Identify the blade connector style
- Look where the blade meets the arm and find the release.
- Most Murano front blades use a J-hook style with either a push button or a pinch tab to release.
- If the tab is stiff, use a small flat-blade screwdriver to gently help depress it (do not pry hard). Gentle pressure prevents broken plastic.
Step 3: Remove the old blade (push-button style)
- Press the button using your thumb (or the small flat-blade screwdriver carefully).
- While holding the button, slide the blade down the arm toward the base of the J-hook.
- Rotate the blade slightly and unhook it from the arm.
Step 4: Remove the old blade (pinch-tab style)
- Squeeze the two side tabs using your fingers (or assist with the small flat-blade screwdriver carefully).
- Slide the blade down/off the hook, then rotate it to unhook it.
Step 5: Install the new blade
- Compare the new blade to the old one (length and connector look the same).
- Hook the new blade onto the wiper arm’s J-hook and slide it up until it clicks into place.
- Gently tug on the blade to confirm it’s locked on.
Step 6: Lower the arm and repeat on the other side
- Lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield slowly (do not drop it).
- Repeat Steps 1–5 for the passenger side.
- Remove the masking tape and the microfiber towel when finished.
âś… After Repair
- Turn the ignition ON and run the front wipers with washer fluid.
- Check for streaking, chatter, or the blade hitting trim. If it does, re-check that the blade fully clicked/locked.
- If you see a missed area, clean the windshield and the new rubber edges with a damp microfiber towel.
