Replacing the front wiper blades restores clear vision in rain and reduces streaking and chatter. On your Niro, you’ll lift the wiper arms, release the blade from the arm’s connector, then install the new blades and test.

⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- 🛑 Turn the car OFF and keep the wiper switch OFF before touching the arms.
- 🛑 Hold the wiper arm firmly—if it snaps back, it can crack the windshield.
- 🛑 Put a towel on the windshield as a cushion while working.
- 🛑 Battery disconnect is not required for this repair.

📋 Before You Begin
- Park your Niro on level ground and shift to Park.
- Turn the car OFF and confirm the wipers are in their “parked” resting position.
- Place a clean microfiber towel on the lower windshield area in case an arm slips.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Confirm you have the correct blades
- Use a tape measure (inch) to confirm your new blades are 26" (driver) and 16" (passenger).
- Match left/right before opening packages.
Step 2: Lift the driver-side wiper arm
- Put on nitrile gloves and safety glasses.
- Lift the driver wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays up.
- Lay a clean microfiber towel under the arm area on the glass.
Step 3: Remove the old driver-side wiper blade
- At the middle of the blade, find the connector where the blade meets the arm.
- Press the release tab with your fingers; if it’s tight, gently help it with a small flathead screwdriver.
- Slide the blade down and off the end of the wiper arm (keep a hand on the arm the whole time).
- Don’t let the bare arm touch glass.
Step 4: Install the new driver-side wiper blade
- Align the new blade’s connector with the wiper arm hook/adapter.
- Slide it on until you hear/feel a “click” (that means the latch locked).
- Gently tug the blade (by hand) to confirm it’s locked in place.
Step 5: Lower the driver-side arm carefully
- Lower the arm back to the windshield slowly with your hand.
- Remove and reposition the clean microfiber towel as needed.
Step 6: Repeat for the passenger-side blade
- Repeat Steps 2–5 for the passenger side using the 16" blade.
- Use the small flathead screwdriver only if the release tab is stuck.
Step 7: Test the wipers
- Remove the clean microfiber towel from the windshield.
- Turn the car ON.
- Use the washer spray and run wipers on low speed for 10–15 seconds.
- If you see streaking, wipe the rubber edges with a damp towel and retest.
✅ After Repair
- Confirm both blades wipe smoothly and don’t hit the windshield trim.
- Verify the blades are fully clipped in (no wobble at the connector).
- Clean the windshield with glass cleaner for best results.
