Step-by-step wiper blade removal and installation with tools, safety tips, and fitment notes

🔧 Sedona - Front Wiper Blade Replacement
You’ll be removing the old front wiper blade assemblies and snapping new ones onto the wiper arms. Wiper blades are a wear item—when they streak, chatter, or leave missed spots, replacement restores clear visibility.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.25-0.5 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- ⚠️ Turn the ignition OFF and remove the key before starting.
- ⚠️ Don’t let a bare wiper arm snap onto the windshield—put a towel on the glass to prevent cracking.
- ⚠️ Keep fingers clear of hinge points on the wiper arm.
- Battery disconnect is not required for this repair.
🔧 Required Tools
You'll need the following tools for this repair:
- Microfiber towel
- Nitrile gloves
- Safety glasses
🔩 Required Parts
HowToo sells all the parts you need for this repair:
- Front wiper blades - Driver: size varies by option, Passenger: size varies by option - Qty: 2
Assumption: Your Sedona uses a common hook-style (J-hook) front wiper arm; most aftermarket blades include the correct adapter.
đź“‹ Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and set the parking brake.
- Turn the ignition OFF.
- Place a microfiber towel on the windshield under the wiper area to protect the glass.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the wiper arm safely
- Put on nitrile gloves and safety glasses.
- Lift the driver-side wiper arm up and away from the windshield until it stays up.
- Keep the microfiber towel on the glass under the arm. It’s cheap insurance.
Step 2: Remove the old wiper blade
- Find the connection where the blade meets the arm (usually a “J-hook” shape).
- Press the small release tab on the blade adapter (use your thumb—no tools needed).
- Slide the blade down toward the base of the arm, then rotate and unhook it from the arm.
- Set the old blade aside.
Step 3: Install the new wiper blade
- Confirm you have the correct blade for that side (driver and passenger are often different lengths).
- If your new blade includes multiple adapters, select the one labeled for “hook/J-hook.”
- Hook the new blade onto the arm, then slide it upward until you hear/feel a click.
- Gently tug the blade to confirm it’s locked in place.
Step 4: Lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield
- Carefully lower the arm down onto the windshield.
- Remove the microfiber towel.
Step 5: Repeat for the passenger side
- Repeat Steps 1–4 for the passenger-side blade.
- Keep the towel under the arm each time so the arm can’t strike the glass.
âś… After Repair
- Turn the ignition ON and test the front wipers on low speed, then high speed.
- Use washer fluid and confirm both blades wipe cleanly without streaking or chattering.
- If a blade chatters, clean the windshield and the rubber edge with a damp microfiber towel. Road film causes noise.
