- āService positionā just lifts wipers for access.
šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the wiper arm safely
- Use your hands to lift the wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays up.
- Keep the microfiber towel under the arm in case it drops.
Step 2: Remove the old wiper blade
- Rotate the blade so itās perpendicular (90°) to the wiper arm.
- Most Veloster blades use a J-hook (a J-shaped metal hook at the end of the arm).
- Press the small release tab on the blade adapter with your thumb; if itās tight, use a small flathead screwdriver to gently help the tab move.
- Slide the blade down toward the base of the J-hook, then unhook it and remove the blade.
Step 3: Install the new wiper blade
- Confirm youāre holding the correct size (driver vs passenger) before installing.
- Hook the new bladeās adapter onto the J-hook and slide it upward until it clicks.
- Gently tug the blade with your hand to confirm itās locked.
- If it didnāt click, it isnāt locked.
Step 4: Lower the arm and repeat on the other side
- Use your hand to lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield slowly.
- Repeat Steps 1ā3 for the other front wiper blade.
Step 5: Exit service position (if used)
- Turn ignition ON and run the wipers once, then turn them OFF so they park normally.
ā After Repair
- Spray washer fluid and run the wipers on low speed to verify smooth wiping and no streaks.
- If you see chattering, clean the windshield with glass cleaner and a clean towel, then re-test.
- Double-check both blades are fully clipped in (a loose blade can fly off).
