šØ Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Put the wipers in service position
- Use the ignition switch to turn the vehicle ON, then turn it OFF.
- Within a few seconds, use the wiper stalk to press and hold the wiper control to the mist/single-wipe position for about 2 seconds so the wipers park up on the glass (service position).
- If they donāt move up, use the wiper stalk to do one wipe, then turn ignition OFF when the arms are mid-sweep so you can lift them. Move slowly to avoid hitting the hood edge.
Step 2: Lift the driver-side wiper arm
- Use your hand to lift the wiper arm away from the windshield until it holds itself up.
- Keep the clean shop towel on the glass under the arm.
Step 3: Remove the old wiper blade
- At the bladeās connection point, locate the small release tab/clip.
- Use your fingers to press the tab; if itās tight, use a small flathead screwdriver to gently help press the tab.
- Slide the blade down/off the end of the wiper arm (it will come off the hook or push-button mount depending on blade style).
Step 4: Install the new wiper blade
- Compare the new blade to the old one (same length and connector style).
- Slide/click the new blade onto the arm until you hear/feel a positive āclickā lock.
- Gently tug the blade with your hand to confirm it is fully latched.
Step 5: Repeat on the passenger-side
- Use the same process to lift the arm, release the clip, remove the old blade, and click the new blade into place.
Step 6: Lower the arms and exit service position
- Carefully lower each arm back onto the windshield by hand (do not drop it).
- Remove the clean shop towel.
- Use the ignition switch to turn the vehicle ON, then use the wiper stalk for a quick wipe to return to normal parked position.
ā After Repair
- Test washers and wipers at low speed, then high speed, using the wiper stalk.
- Check for streaks or chattering; if present, clean the windshield with glass cleaner and a towel.
