🔧 F-350 Super Duty - Front Wiper Blade Replacement
You’ll remove the old wiper blades from the wiper arms and snap new blades on. Fresh blades improve visibility and reduce streaking and chatter in rain.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 10-20 minutes
Assumption: most F-350s use 22" front blades; verify length on your current blades/package.
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- 🛑 Turn the ignition OFF and keep hands clear of moving wiper arms.
- 🛑 Hold the wiper arm firmly—if it snaps back onto the glass it can crack the windshield.
- 🛑 Place a towel on the windshield where the arm could touch as protection.

đź“‹ Before You Begin
- Park your F-350 Super Duty on level ground and switch the ignition OFF.
- Lift each wiper arm up away from the windshield until it stays up.
- Lay a microfiber towel on the windshield under the arm.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Measure and confirm blade length
- Use a tape measure to measure the rubber wiping edge end-to-end.
- Match the new blades to the same length. Don’t guess—sizes can vary by package.
Step 2: Remove the old blade (common “J-hook” style)
- Rotate the blade so it sits about 90° to the wiper arm (a “T” shape).
- Press the small release tab on the blade adapter using your thumb or a small flathead screwdriver. (The release tab is a little latch you press to unlock it.)
- While holding the tab, slide the blade down toward the base of the J-hook and unhook it.
- Set the old blade aside, and keep holding the arm so it can’t snap back.
Step 3: Remove the old blade (pinch-tab style, if equipped)
- Locate the two squeeze points on the sides of the adapter.
- Squeeze both tabs with your fingers (or carefully assist with the small flathead screwdriver).
- Slide the blade straight off the end of the arm.
Step 4: Install the new blade
- Confirm the new blade’s adapter matches your arm style (J-hook or pinch-tab).
- Hook or slide the new blade onto the arm until it clicks into place.
- Gently tug the blade with your hand to confirm it’s locked on.
Step 5: Lower the arms back onto the windshield
- Remove the microfiber towel.
- Lower each arm down slowly and gently to the glass.
Step 6: Test wiper operation
- Put on safety glasses.
- Turn the ignition ON and run the washers/wipers briefly.
- Check for streaks, missed areas, or a blade that looks loose.
âś… After Repair
- If you see streaking, clean the windshield with glass cleaner and a microfiber towel, then retest.
- Make sure both blades “park” normally at the bottom of the windshield.
- Replace blades in pairs for even wiping.
