🔧 Regal - Front Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement

Replacing the front wiper blades restores clear vision in rain and reduces streaking and chatter. On your Regal, the blades attach to the wiper arms with a standard release tab, so it’s a quick job with no special programming.

Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.2-0.5 hours

⚠️ Safety & Precautions

  • ⚠️ Keep fingers clear of the wiper arm spring—it can snap back hard.
  • ⚠️ Protect the windshield: place a folded towel on the glass where the arm could fall.
  • ⚠️ Turn ignition OFF and wipers OFF before lifting the arms.
  • ⚠️ Battery disconnect is not required for this repair.

🔧 Required Tools

You'll need the following tools for this repair:

  • Clean microfiber towel
  • Small flathead screwdriver
  • Nitrile gloves
  • Safety glasses

🔩 Required Parts

HowToo sells all the parts you need for this repair:

  • Front wiper blades - Replace in pairs - Qty: 2

📋 Before You Begin

  • Park on level ground and turn the ignition OFF.
  • Make sure the wipers are in their “parked” (down) position.
  • Lay a clean microfiber towel along the lower edge of the windshield as a cushion.

🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps in order:

Step 1: Lift the wiper arm safely

  • Use your hands to lift one wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays up.
  • Place the clean microfiber towel under the arm area. Prevents glass damage if it drops.

Step 2: Release the old wiper blade from the arm

  • Rotate the blade so it’s perpendicular (about 90°) to the wiper arm.
  • Find the small locking tab where the blade meets the arm.
  • Press the tab with your thumb; if it’s tight, gently help it with a small flathead screwdriver.
  • Slide the blade down and off the hook/connector.

Step 3: Install the new wiper blade

  • Compare the new blade to the old one to ensure the connector style matches.
  • Slide the new blade onto the wiper arm hook/connector until you hear or feel a solid “click.”
  • Gently tug on the blade to confirm it’s locked in place.

Step 4: Lower the wiper arm back onto the windshield

  • Hold the arm firmly and lower it slowly onto the glass.
  • Remove the clean microfiber towel.

Step 5: Repeat on the other side

  • Repeat Steps 1–4 for the other front wiper blade.
  • Wear nitrile gloves if the arms/blades are dirty.

✅ After Repair

  • Spray washer fluid and run the wipers to confirm smooth, quiet wiping.
  • Check that both blades park correctly and don’t hit the trim.
  • If you see streaking, clean the windshield with glass cleaner and a clean microfiber towel.
