🔧 Camaro - Front Wiper Blade Replacement
Replacing the front wiper blades is a quick job: you’ll lift each wiper arm, release the old blade from the arm, and snap the new blade on. Fresh blades improve visibility and reduce streaking and chatter.
Difficulty Level: Beginner | Estimated Time: 0.25-0.5 hours
⚠️ Safety & Precautions
- 🛑 Turn ignition OFF and remove the key before starting.
- 🛑 Don’t let the wiper arm snap onto the glass—place a towel on the windshield.
- 🛑 Work on a cool windshield to avoid cracking risk.
- 🛑 Battery disconnect is not required.

đź“‹ Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and make sure the wipers are in their “parked” (down) position.
- Place a microfiber towel on the windshield under each wiper arm to protect the glass.
- Quick check: confirm the blade lengths printed on your current blades or on the package of the new blades.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift the wiper arm safely
- Lift the driver-side wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays up.
- Keep the microfiber towel on the glass as a cushion.
Step 2: Identify the blade attachment type
- Look where the blade meets the end of the wiper arm.
- You’ll typically see either a push-button tab (a button you press) or a pinch-tab (two squeeze tabs).
- If unsure, match what you see to Step 3A or 3B.
Step 3A: Remove the old blade (push-button style)
- Press the release button on the connector. If it’s tight, use a small flathead screwdriver gently to help press the tab.
- While holding the button, slide the blade down and away from the arm to unhook it.
- Set the old blade aside.
Step 3B: Remove the old blade (pinch-tab style)
- Squeeze the two release tabs on the connector.
- While squeezing, slide the blade off the end of the arm.
- If it sticks, use the small flathead screwdriver gently to help lift a tab—don’t pry hard.
Step 4: Install the new blade
- Align the new blade connector with the end of the wiper arm (same orientation as the old one).
- Slide it on until you hear/feel a firm click.
- Gently tug the blade to confirm it’s locked in place.
Step 5: Lower the wiper arm carefully
- Lower the arm back onto the windshield slowly so it doesn’t slap the glass.
- Remove the microfiber towel.
Step 6: Repeat on the other side
- Repeat Steps 1–5 for the passenger-side blade.
âś… After Repair
- Turn ignition ON and test the wipers with washer fluid to confirm smooth, quiet wiping.
- Check that both blades wipe the full area and don’t collide with the hood edge.
- If you see streaks, clean the windshield with glass cleaner and a microfiber towel.
