đź“‹ Before You Begin
- Park on level ground and turn the ignition OFF.
- Put a microfiber towel on the windshield under each wiper arm.
- Lift one wiper arm at a time so you don’t mix anything up.
🔨 Step-by-Step Instructions
Follow these steps in order:
Step 1: Lift and protect the wiper arm
- Use your hands (wear nitrile gloves) to lift the wiper arm away from the windshield until it stays up.
- Confirm the microfiber towel is under the arm’s path. Prevents glass damage if it snaps back.
Step 2: Remove the old wiper blade
- Use your hands to rotate the wiper blade so it’s perpendicular (90°) to the wiper arm.
- At the connection point, locate the small release tab on the blade adapter (this is the clip that locks it to the arm).
- Press the release tab with your thumb and slide the blade down and off the end of the wiper arm hook.
- Set the old blade aside and keep holding the arm so it doesn’t spring back.
Step 3: Install the new wiper blade
- Use your hands to align the new blade’s adapter with the wiper arm hook (the curved metal “J” end).
- Slide the new blade onto the hook until you hear/feel a click.
- Gently tug on the blade to confirm it’s locked in place.
Step 4: Lower the wiper arm carefully
- Use your hand to guide the wiper arm back down onto the windshield slowly.
- Remove the microfiber towel.
Step 5: Repeat for the other side
- Repeat Steps 1–4 on the other front wiper blade.
âś… After Repair
- Start the engine and test the wipers and washer spray.
- Check for chatter/skipping—if it happens, wipe the windshield with glass cleaner and re-test.
- If one blade doesn’t move correctly, re-check that it fully clicked onto the hook.
